Spring has arrived. For many of us, that means it’s time for spring cleaning. 1. Regular Vacuuming Schedule
   It can be easy to skip over vacuuming your carpet when it doesn’t appear to be dirty. But in reality, there are small soil particles that build up on the carpet even if you can’t notice them. If these particles are not vacuumed proactively, they can get embedded into the carpet fibers, which can damage the carpet. This means that the less often you vacuum your carpet, the sooner you’ll need to replace it.
2. Focus on How You Vacuum
   While it’s important to vacuum regularly, if you aren’t vacuuming properly, it won’t have the effect you need it to have. When vacuuming, you should move slowly and be sure to go over the same areas a couple of times to be sure you don’t miss anything. Additionally, make sure you are reaching the corners and edges of the room. If left ignored, these areas can build up large amounts of dirt and dust, which can damage your carpet.
3. Consider Professional Cleaning
   Despite the importance of vacuuming, it is not the only step towards properly cleaning your carpet. It’s also important to get your carpet professionally cleaned from time to time. These deep cleanings can remove soil and dust that can not be removed through vacuuming. Professional cleaning should be done at least every 12-18 months in lower traffic homes and every 6-12 months in high traffic homes.
